Rustic Hook

This hook is one of our classic, rustic, vintage design hooks and is great for all around your home. The old style of the hook is traditional, adding a cottage feeling to your home and is one of our small hooks.

The hook is hand forged in the traditional way on the anvil and will show signs of forging. When the hook has been finished it is coated in a natural beeswax which does two jobs. Firstly, it darkens the wrought iron and secondly, it seals the surface to help protect against rusting.

Fixing

This is a surface mount hook so is relatively easy to position. If you are fixing it on narrow shelves, a small pilot hole would not be a bad idea and will help stop the wood from splitting.

If you are attaching the hook to a wall, please watch out for pipes and electrical cables. We have included a fixing screw for you.

Uses

This hook can be used internally or externally, but if used outside, after a period of time, you will notice surface rust on the hook. The surface rust is normal, and this is just the beeswax breaking down. This will not affect the integrity of the hook and will only add to its charm. If, however, you wish to paint the hook you can. The best way to go about this is to firstly rub the hook down with some wire wool to remove any debris. A coat of good quality exterior rust proof paint will finish the job.
