Bespoke Kitchen Design Project

We have been thrilled to have recently been involved in a custom kitchen project with Bernard Savage Bespoke Kitchens and Furniture based in Tettenhall in the Black Country, and now have some lovely photos to share.

Established in 1978,  they are a family firm with over 100 years of collective experience in designing and creating kitchens, interiors and furniture. Their own on site workshop houses a team of highly skilled craftsmen creating beautiful bespoke kitchens and cabinets from high quality materials and designed in conjunction with each individual client to be completely unique and bespoke. Working with kitchen designers like Bernard Savage gives us a wonderful opportunity to see our beautiful rustic handcrafted iron work being made the most of.

Attention to Detail

We were approached by Bernard Savage who were working with their client on a range of interior design projects and were looking to source hand crafted handles and cabinet knobs for kitchen cupboards. With a clear vision on on design, colours and detailing, the home owners were keen to champion products made in England and sourcing products through small businesses like The Rustic Merchant meant that they could be confident they would be working with somene delivering quality and attention to detail.

When searching for the perfect handles and hooks for our bespoke kitchen we wanted a rustic yet elegant handle and definitely black.  […] they compliment the cupboards perfectly and sit very well with the contrasting island knobs and black brackets on the oak shelves, all of which were sourced so cleverly by [Bernard Savage].

The kitchen has turned out so beautifully still can’t quite believe it’s ours.”

Utility Hooks

As well as using The Rustic Merchant’s pull handles and cabinet knobs, our Victorian coat hooks have been fitted to a utitlity bench to lend the new kitchen the air of quality and timelessness that hand wrought iron does so well. This is a great practical use of space that is also aesthetically pleasing. hooks in a kitchen are always in short supply, whether they are being used for aprons, tea towels, drying herbs or hanging utensils and mugs; take a look at our wide range of styles and sizes of these types of black iron hooks.

Bernard Savage’s Instagram page has a wealth of beautiful photographs of the Dobell’s kitchen featuring our bow handles and cast iron cabinet knobs, as well as their other stunning interior design projects. We highly recommend checking out their wonderful handiwork and look forward to working with them in the future.
