Rustic vintage Handle 8 Inch

These handles are very Rustic

Our rustic vintage large black pull handle for doors and also kitchen drawers and cupboards. This Vintage handle is 8 inches in length with a decorative black arrowhead end.

The decorative old arrowhead ends measure 5.5cm wide. The antique handle itself is 20.5cm long in total and 2cm wide across the grip. The depth from the traditional surface it is mounted on measures 6cm providing plenty of space to easily grasp the cottage handle.

Our rustic wrought iron products are all hand forged so though similar will not be identical. Each piece is hand-finished and given a beeswax coating. All our hand-forged products are carefully aged for an authentic look.

Making our handles

All of our handles in this range are hand-forged. By hand-forged, we mean that they are made in the traditional way. The handles are hand forged on the anvil. The finished handle will show these forging marks. The blacksmiths are highly skilled artisans with many years of experience in forging. The blacksmiths are also passionate about their work which will show in the quality of the completed handle.

Beeswax

Once the handles have been forged the wrought iron now needs to be dressed. To do this the handles are dipped into natural beeswax. The beeswax does two things to the handle. Firstly the wax will penetrate the tiny holes on the surface of the wrought iron. This will enable the wax to form a layer over the entire surface of the iron. This coating will form a barrier between the iron and the air. This will help to prevent excessive rusting. The next function that the wax provides is that it will even out the colour of the handle.
