          Arrowhead Hinge 15 inch            

Traditional T hinge. A pair of our rustic T Arrowhead Hinge 15 inch These are hand made in wrought iron and with decorative arrowheads. These cottage style traditional black hinges are available in a range of sizes, and we stock other door furniture to match. These particular old pair are 15 inches in length and so suited to a larger door. We recommend the antique hinge length should cover half to two-thirds of the door width. Vintage fixing screws are provided, and the hinge base plates come with predrilled holes.

The rectangular hinge leaf measures 13cm by 2.7 cm and the decorative hinge leaf is 32cm long. The head of the arrow measures 3.5cm wide.

Our wrought iron products are all hand forged, so though similar will not be identical. Each piece is hand finished and given a beeswax coating. All our hand-forged products are carefully aged for an authentic look.

Making Our Hinges

Our hinges are made in the traditional way by artisan blacksmiths on the anvil and will show forging marks. Once the Arrowhead Hinge 15 inch are complete, they are hand cleaned and then hand polished. After this process has been completed the hinges are dipped in natural beeswax. The beeswax penetrates the small holes on the surface of the wrought iron and forms a coating on the surface. This coating forms a barrier between the iron and the air, making the hinge less likely to suffer from excessive rusting.  This is the old and traditional way of treating wrought iron.  The beeswax also helps to generate an even colour over the hinge.

You will receive the correct amount of cottage vintage type screws with your order. The screws will be black and slotted with a domed head.
