Description

Cast Iron Square D Handle 6″. Our Vintage Square D Handle is cast from solid iron and is suitable for drawers and doors . The black handle has slightly squared shoulders giving it a classic D shape. It is ideal for kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, study drawers, cupboards and doors.The handle can also be used as a storage box fitting. Being plain in look and smooth to the touch, these handles would suit both contemporary and period homes.

They can be used outside, but as it is not painted, it will rust.  This will not affect its integrity.

Measurements

This traditional, cottage handle measures 150mm from end to end. The handle grip itself is 15mm wide, tapering to 11mm at each end. The fixing plates are 30mm x 22mm and the whole handle has a depth of 30mm proud from the surface it is fixed to.  The approximate distance between hole centres is 130mm. Please note, that as these are hand-drilled, the position of the screw holes may vary very slightly with each handle.

These handles are cast for us in small foundries. Each piece is individually made then hand polished and cleaned. The resulting finish is matt black.  The artisan smiths who produce these products are dedicated and proud, which will show in the originality and quality of their product.

Fitting Instructions

We would recommend that when you fit the screws you firstly make a pilot hole. The pilot hole can be made in two ways, either with a bradawl or with a small drill. By making these starter holes, you will ensure that the screw is fitted squarely into the handles and that the screw heads fit flush with the handle base.

The handles will be delivered with the required number of screws. Our screws are slotted and black to match the finish of the handle.
