T Hinge FDL 12″
A pair of our large vintage T Hinge FDL 12″ or tee Hinges, with gothic fleur de lys head finishes. Pre-drilled hinge plates and matching fixing screws are provided. These long antique hinges are 12 inches in length so are particularly suited to large cottage doors.
The rectangular vintage T Hinge FDL 12″ leaf measures 13cm by 3 cm and the decorative black hinge leaf is 24.5 cm long. The rustic head of the Fleur de Lys measures 9.5 cm T Hinge FDL 12″ wide.
Our wrought iron products are all hand forged, so though similar will not be identical. Each piece is hand finished and given a beeswax coating. All our hand-forged products are carefully aged for an authentic look.
Forging
These are one of our collections of t hinges. T Hinge FDL 12″ We are very happy to have been able to find artisan blacksmiths to make these for us. These hinges have been hand forged in the very old and traditional way on the anvil. As the hinges are produced in this way the finished product will show the forging marks that were made when it was produced.
When complete, each hinge is hand polished and cleaned. The next stage is to protect the wrought iron. To protect the wrought iron, we use natural beeswax. This is a very old traditional method. The beeswax will protect the wrought iron and will also even out the colouring.
Fixing
When your parcel arrives, it will come with all the parts you need to install it. In this case, it will just be screws. The screws will be of a traditional cottage design they will be black and slotted with a domed head.
